Anthony Riske, MTFC

Co-founder, Mentor, Family Coach

An oldest sibling, Anthony was born into mentoring, though it took him some time to recognize the privilege it is to pave the way for others following in his path. Throughout Anthony’s years in student leadership, wilderness therapy, and community-based mentoring, he has steeped himself in the work of joining others' villages -- an attempt to bring a fragmented world back together in patchwork communities.

Anthony’s experience and passion lie in meeting people "where they're at" including work with anxiety, depression, ADHD, "Failure to Launch", problematic technology use, avoid/escape behaviors, identity exploration and definition, Parent Coaching, and young adult issues.

Maria Carland

Mentor

Maria studied Psychology and International Affairs while worked for BVSD as a paraeducator in the Intensive Center for Affective Needs, working with students on the autism spectrum.  This inspired Maria to deepen her knowledge of how we learn and earn a Master's degree in education from Regis University in Denver.  After several years of teaching in BVSD, Maria noticed a systemic lack of explicit instruction around the "how" of learning, as many students simply did not know how to be successful students.

Maria is passionate about supporting clients to develop a sense of self-efficacy.  She is skillful in teaching pragmatic organizational systems and tools that work to scaffold strong executive function skills such as planning, organization and time management.  Maria also recognizes the importance of teaching and modeling stress management skills alongside academic skills.

Maria lives in Longmont with her family. She loves making art, knitting, crocheting, gardening, yoga, and connecting with nature.
