Mentoring

This is community-based support that literally meets you where you are at.  We serve the Boulder-Longmont area, and find ourselves on-campus, in coffee shops, and our clients' places of residence--where life actually happens.  Or if your work is suited to a more formal setting we have an office in Northeast Boulder.  Depending on your particular needs and desires, Mentoring emphases may include:

  • Supporting emotional regulation and communication skills

  • Developing a healthy relationship with technology

  • Building executive functioning skills (organization, time management, clerical accomplishment, creating efficient life systems, follow through)

  • Reconnecting with nature and community

Family + Parent Coaching

We bring families together to discuss how their relationships are supporting a child or young adult's Mentoring efforts.  During these sessions, we meet in our office, the family's home, or virtually to discuss what everyone is learning from and about each other. Family Agreements are often co-created and implemented to support family cohesion and follow-through with boundaries and limits.

Groups

Social Lab: High-school teens meet in-person weekly to develop their social and emotional skillfulness in a supportive environment. Participants practice social skills through real life interactions as we talk, craft, laugh, play games, and have monthly community outings. Themes may include healthy risk taking, communication skills, stress management, emotional regulation, focus and follow-through, and accountability.

DBT Skills Group: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a skills-based therapy that helps individuals to increase self-compassion, learn to work with difficult emotions, and live healthier, more stable lives. DBT helps people to better understand their emotions and work with these emotions to feel more grounded in themselves, their personal relationships, and at work. In this weekly skills group, participants learn practical tools to become more emotionally regulated, to skillfully manage times of distress and to create longer lasting and deeper relationships. This group is ongoing and open to adults and young adults.
